Our Story

Back in 1992, Chris Montana had a problem. Everytime an outlet failed in one of his apartment buildings, he had to call an electrician to repair it. This took time to schedule and was an inconvenience for the tenant. Power had to be turned off so this meant a trip to the building to find the breaker for the tenant's apartment. He had the same problems in his own house. There had to be a better way to deal with this issue.
That is whan he came up with the idea of easily replaceable outlets and switches. He enlisted his long time friend, Tom and soon they had a working prototype.
Swich Tech was born.
They further refined the design, focusing on safety and modularity. The technology was patented in Sept 2022 (US 11451033 B2) and the rest is history.
